September 2025 Newsletter

Fall is making its way into our wonderful hometown, and we have lots to share with you!

First of all, be sure to mark your calendars for the neighborhood picnic/block party for kids and adults.

The 800 block of Mortimer and neighbors on Kenmore have arranged to close the block and host a neighborhood party!

  • There will be games including an Egg and Spoon Race.
  • Bring your own beverages, an entrée to cook on the grill, and a side to share.

Be sure to RSVP to Onie at ogirton@yahoo.com

Alma will be representing CTNA at the upcoming Town and Gown meeting at UMW on October 2nd.

On October 18th, we will hold our quarterly meeting at Christ Lutheran Church at 1300 Augustine St from 3 – 4:30.   The agenda tentatively includes time to hear and meet candidates Joshua Cole and Sean Steinway for the House District 65 position. (Please note: UMW is featuring a debate on October 2nd between the two of them: UMW hosts Oct. 2 debate between Cole) Invitations to speak at our meeting have been made to both candidates. We will also discuss:

  • Tentative: meet candidates Joshua Cole and Sean Steinway for the House District 65 position
  • Update on Neighborhood Conservation Districts
  • Upcoming events, including a possible street tour
  • The newsletter
  • UMW update on landscaping plans for new arts building at William and Sunken Road (pending)
  • Time to concerns and questions
  • We will have a short meeting with block captains at the end of the meeting.

Let us know if there is anything you want shared with the neighborhood! We’d be happy to post it.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the block party and meeting.
