What’s Happening in Our Neighborhood?
- Welcome to all of the new neighbors! Want to be on our email list? Write us at college.terrace@yahoo.com and you will get all of the updates! Also, check out our Facebook page, College Terrace FXBG, where you can ask your neighbors about which doctors they use, where to eat, who are the best plumbers, and more!
- The University of Mary Washington includes our neighborhood in their Town and Gown meetings; one was just held. Tina Morris and Alma Withers both attended. Key takeaways were an update on the demolition of Russell and Marshall. The unique windows are being saved and will be repurposed. The AC units were given to people in need of them and the bricks are for sale for alumni. Concerns regarding the additional trees being cut down were discussed. Want more info? Contact Tina at our college.terrace@yahoo.com email address.
- Tina Morris is investigating what we would need to do to begin the process of having stone markers indicate the boundaries of our neighborhood. Interested in helping in this process, including potential fundraising? Contact Tina at our email address.
- No worries! The goats that are clearing the underbrush of the forest that borders our neighborhood are back on the UMW campus/Sunken Road. During the ice storm and its following deep freeze, the goats were removed to a warm location.
- Fredericksburg and Virginia State are excited about our 250th Anniversary! Have you heard about the VA250.org passport or the Washington Museums Speaker series Meetings and Events | Fredericksburg, VA | Washington Heritage Museums? We have 8 VA250 Passports left; if you want one, write us at our email address. First come, first serve! The Speaker Series will be holding talks in Fredericksburg that include Tea Talks historic home tours, the Apothecary Shop, and much more! These will be available on YouTube as well.
